The move
Just so you all know, I have moved to another blog, as I feel the title didn’t quite suit and was unable to change it.
I’m now here:

http://pantheon.blogsome.comPersonally, I don’t see why anyone would flip for a Mac computer…they’re just a computer like all the other ones.
Ok, Bad joke… I’m sorry.
Flip 4 Mac is a free program built by a company, called Telestream, for Mac users to be able to use/have windows media files and the proper codecs that Quicktime may not have, inside Quicktime media player. So with this program; Mac users can watch and listen to .WMA/.WMV files. This can perform tasks that will also make your video editing much easier.
How great is that? Myself, I’ve been using this program for a couple of years now, and it’s usefulness is second-to-none.
However, there is another particular program that is reportedly better than this.
It’s called Episode Engine (also made by Telestream). And other than finding out about it just today, there are many features that should be noted:
To quote: "Episode Engine is the most powerful high-quality, server-based media encoder for the Mac." This is undoubtedly true from what I’ve read from forums and such in the last 10 minutes. But for one thing, this ‘excellent’ program isn’t for free, it must be purchased. This is due to the amount of things this program can do. Where Flip 4 Mac only transcodes any windows media file, Episode Engine can do that and more. It can Transcode any programs video or audio files into useable files on most media programs. So with this you can watch something made in flash in Quicktime.
This program can encode media files into useable files on other pieces of tech. Like iPods, portable media players, mobile phones and more. It can also repurpose the media file for use on the internet. So far this program is beating Flip 4 Mac.
Episode Engine also has Automated Media Encoding, if you have this feature selected and have had everything set up the way you want it to, it will encode the file automatically (Hence ‘Automated’). This program can also multitask: while Encoding a video, you can begin to do another, cancel one, reprioritize the files that are being encoded. All these features will make your video editing so much easier for you.
Both of these programs were built for use by those in the video/sound editing business, whether it is a student or someone who actually does work in that industry.
There are so many more features to list, but to do so would be too time consuming… and I’m lazy.
Also, I don’t like to advertise stuff.
All in all, I’d probably get this product for myself one day. But all I need right now is with Flip 4 Mac.
Bye all,
Braeden
